I worked with puppies that were feral and that didn't have any socialization skills with people. There was a big pack of puppies. What I did everyday was sit in the big open yard with these puppies everyday, trying to get them to know me, trust me, and know I would not hurt them. I held them even if they didn't want me to hold them. There was this one that really grew on me, and she only trusted me and wouldn't let anyone else touch her. She rolled over for me and gave me her paw and any time another coworker of mine would come into the cages she would stand behind me. All of those things were a sign of trust. Which that means that she trust humans and it will be a lot easier for her to connect with people and find a forever home. I worked with cats that needed help being socialized as well and they were all pretty mean and didn't want anyone to touch them, but after me being there all the cats were mostly friendly.
